Why Should I Join Vina Gallica?

Vina Gallica is a tourist guide with the ambition to become the go-to destination for anyone seeking a French wine experience. We are currently focused on France.

Users can explore two platforms: the Directory and the Interactive Map.

The Directory is a collection of cards displaying basic information, filterable by category, wine region, and administrative area (villages, towns, cities, departments, and regions).

The Map, powered by Mapbox, lets you filter by category and search for any location. Instead of cards, you will see coloured dots representing each category. Click a dot to open a modal with basic details, then click again to open a side panel with more information about the place.

By joining Vina Gallica, you gain visibility and become part of a growing collection of places offering French wine experiences. To tell more about the experience you offer, upgrade to Premium.

What Categories Are Available in Vina Gallica?

We have four categories:

  1. Adventures: Wine tours, wine coaching, wine travel. Anything that offers an adventure related to French wine is welcome.
  2. Festivals: Wine festivals and fairs. Anything that gathers people into a party about French wine is welcome.
  3. Shops: Wine shops, cellars, tasting rooms. Anything where French wine is sold is welcome.
  4. Wineries: French winemakers wanted. We aim to be the go-to directory for anyone looking for French wineries.
Do I Have to Pay to Join?

No. We offer a free version for everyone without any time limit. However, we do also offer a premium one as well. The latter provides significant added value over the former.

What Are the Differences Between Free and Premium Accounts?

Free offers basic visibility: a card in the Directory and a marker with a panel on the Map. Both display your category, name, wine region, address, department, region, opening hours or dates (for festivals), and website link (when applicable). The Map panel also shows your logo and phone number.

Free listings are subject to a standard review before publication. You may create drafts and edit them at your convenience, archive published listings and reactivate them at any time, and permanently delete any listing you no longer need.

Premium includes everything in Free, plus:

  • In the Directory: Your card features a "Read more" button linking to your dedicated profile page on Vina Gallica. Your profile may include a gallery of images, a marketing description of your business and wine experience, photos of certifications and awards, your videos, and location details (nearest train or bus station and nearby attractions).
  • On the Map: Your panel displays additional information: a gallery, your business description and experience details, certification and award images, and location details (nearest train or bus station and nearby attractions).

All listings submitted under a Premium account are not subject to the standard review queue and are published without delay.

CAN I ADD MORE THAN ONE LISTING?

Yes. Whether you are on the free plan or premium, you can add more than one listing — in different categories or within the same one. Each listing appears independently in both the Directory and the Map, so if your business fits more than one category, you can be present in all of them.

HOW CAN I PURCHASE A PREMIUM ACCOUNT?
  1. Register a free account on Vina Gallica.
  2. In your dashboard, navigate to the Upgrade tab.
  3. Choose your registration path depending on your tax status:
    • If your business holds a valid EU intra-community VAT number, enter it in the designated field. The number will be verified in real time.
    • If your business does not hold an EU VAT number, enter your SIREN number instead. It will likewise be verified in real time.
  4. Once verification is successful, a pre-filled order form will appear. Complete the remaining fields, review the details, and tick the box consenting to receive your invoices by email.
  5. The form collects the information required to issue both a proforma invoice and a final invoice. When you are ready, submit the form — by doing so, you authorise us to send the proforma invoice to the email address indicated in the form. The form will display the final amount payable, inclusive of VAT where applicable (see the Currency and VAT section). When you submit the form, you authorise us to send a pro-forma invoice to the email address you have provided — showing the exact amount due, including any applicable VAT.
  6. Upon receipt of your form, we will grant you provisional Premium access for 33 days. You will simultaneously receive a proforma invoice — showing the exact amount due, inclusive of VAT where applicable — payable by SEPA bank transfer within 30 days. Please note that a pro-forma invoice is not a VAT invoice and cannot be used for tax deduction purposes.
  7. If your business does not hold an EU VAT number, VAT will be included in your invoice as described in WHAT CURRENCY AND VAT APPLY? section.
  8. Your annual Premium subscription period begins on the date we record your payment against the proforma invoice. We will notify you by email and add a corresponding note to your dashboard, showing both the start and end dates of your subscription.
  9. Following confirmation of payment, we will issue and send you a final VAT invoice by email.
  10. One month before your subscription expires, we will send you a new proforma invoice for the following annual period, payable by SEPA bank transfer within 30 days.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY PREMIUM PERIOD ENDS?

There is no automatic renewal. You are always in control.

Starting one month before your premium period ends, we will send you a reminder email along with a pro-forma invoice. We will follow up again one week before and three days before the expiry date. The pro-forma invoice is not binding — you are under no obligation to pay it.

If you choose not to renew, your listing or listings will remain active at the premium level for a grace period of 7 days after the expiry date. If no payment is made during that period, your listings will automatically revert to the free plan — they will remain visible in the Directory and on the Map indefinitely, but without the premium features.

You can upgrade back to premium at any time from your account dashboard.

WHO CAN JOIN VINA GALLICA?

At this stage, Vina Gallica is open to French businesses only. To register, you will need a valid French SIREN number. We verify this during the registration process.

We are planning to expand eligibility in the future. If your business is based outside France but operates in the French wine world, stay tuned — we will announce any changes on this page.

WHAT CURRENCY AND VAT APPLY?

All prices on Vina Gallica are listed in euros (€). The Premium plan is priced at €50 per year, excluding VAT.

If your business holds a valid EU intra-community VAT number, you will be invoiced without VAT under the reverse charge mechanism (EU VAT Directive, Art. 44). You will be responsible for self-assessing and reporting VAT in your own country.

If your business does not hold an EU VAT number (for example, French micro-enterprises operating under the franchise en base de TVA), VAT will be applied to your invoice in accordance with applicable tax regulations. The applicable amount will be shown on the pro forma invoice you will receive before payment is due.

HOW CAN I PAY? WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE AVAILABLE?

Payment is made by SEPA bank transfer. Your pro-forma invoice will include all the bank details you need to complete the transfer. Once you have the invoice, simply initiate the payment from your bank — no online payment is required on our end.

We aim to record and confirm your payment within 2 business days of receiving the transfer.

Are There Plans to Add New Sections to Vina Gallica?

Yes. We're planning to add a "Cinema" section featuring video walking tours of wine routes, both official ones and those we discovered for you.

Videos will also be available on our social media accounts (YouTube and TikTok) as part of our marketing campaign to boost Vina Gallica's visibility.
